A surprising development has emerged in the transfer market as highly-rated defender Honest Ahanor is set to join Crystal Palace on loan from Atalanta, despite a pre-agreed transfer to Chelsea. He has represented Italy twice at senior level, making his debut earlier this year.

Last season, the promising defender featured in 28 Serie A matches for Atalanta and also made his Champions League debut in September.
