A Delhi court judge, Aman Kumar Sharma, was found dead by suicide at his Safdarjung residence in South Delhi. According to official records, the deceased judge was in his 30s and had joined the Delhi Judicial Services on June 19, 2021. He had completed his law studies at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, in 2018, and during his tenure he dealt with a range of criminal and civil cases, serving in different jurisdictions as a judicial magistrate first class and civil judge.
Police have said that none of the initial findings confirm motives, and all angles are being examined as part of inquest proceedings. The investigation will look into various possibilities, including professional pressures and mental health factors, while maintaining sensitivity to the family.
In a related development, last month in New Delhi, a 26-year-old advocate died by suicide at a hotel in Connaught Place. Police indicated it is a separate incident and no foul play is suspected, with investigators pursuing their leads.
