In all, 2,039 forms have been filed, as some candidates submitted multiple forms. The final picture will emerge after the scrutiny of papers on March 24 and the March 26 deadline for withdrawal of candidature.\n\nThe 2021 polls had 957 candidates across 140 constituencies, highlighting a significant rise in participation this time as parties prepare to contest in a crowded field.\n\nAt the release of Vottarivu, an election booklet published by the Thiruvananthapuram unit, Kerala's Chief Electoral Officer Rathan U. Kelkar urged voters to help achieve the highest turnout in Kerala's electoral history, aiming to cross the 85 percent mark.\n\nWith the April 9 date set, officials say the final lineup will be decided through scrutiny and potential withdrawals, shaping the contest ahead of voting day.
