A military cargo plane crashed near Bolivia’s capital on Friday, killing at least a dozen people and injuring others as it skidded off a runway and veered onto a highway. The aircraft, a Bolivian air force C-130 Hercules, had just picked up freshly printed banknotes from the central bank and was headed to other cities when the disaster unfolded near El Alto International Airport in La Paz. The crash disrupted airport operations and left vehicles damaged along the road, with debris and bodies reported in the vicinity. Firefighters battled flames from the wreckage, while the scale of the disaster prompted authorities to suspend airport activities and begin casualty and cargo assessments.
