Indian swimmer Sajan Prakash clinches gold in the 200m butterfly at the Dubai Open with 1:59.61, defeating Daiya Seto. Advait Page earns bronze in the 1500m freestyle as the team trains ahead of a Bhutan camp.
India’s top swimmer, Sajan Prakash, gave an impressive performance at the Dubai Open Swimming Championships on Saturday. He won the gold medal in the men’s 200m butterfly. His teammate, Advait Page, took home a bronze in the men’s 1500m freestyle.

Sajan finished in 1:59.61, placing first and beating Japan’s Olympic medallist and world record holder, Daiya Seto. His national record for this event, set in 2021 at 1:56.38, remains his personal best.
After the race, Sajan’s coach, Sandeep Sejwal, an Arjuna Awardee and former Asian Games medallist, said the competition was an important opportunity for preparation. “It was just a racing experience that they are getting here in Dubai. It’s important to know where they stand. We will now be heading to Bhutan for a three-week training camp,” he said.

In the women’s events, Jahnabi Kashyap finished tenth overall in the girls’ 16-and-above 400m freestyle with a time of 4:36.83. The gold medal in the race went to Lojine Hamed of ALS, who recorded a time of 4:18.14.
For Indian fans, the results are another encouraging sign. Prakash continues to set the standard, while Page’s strong performance suggests a bright future. With gold and bronze secured, India leaves the Dubai Open with confidence and momentum, and clear proof that its swimmers are ready to make an impact on the world stage.
