Delhi Private Schools Publish First Nursery Admission List for 2026-27

Delhi's private schools released the first nursery admission merit lists for the 2026-27 academic year, spanning about 1,741 institutions. The lists show the names of shortlisted applicants and those on the waiting list. Admission forms were available in the first week of December, and the deadline to submit them was December 27. Schools used a points-based system, with criteria including distance from home, alumni status, and sibling quotas. Some institutions awarded extra points for single-girl children or orphans.
Alka Kapur, principal of Modern Public School in Shalimar Bagh, noted that 120 students made it into the first list. Sudha Acharya, principal of ITL Public School in Dwarka, said 97 students were shortlisted, with 43 on the waiting list. Bluebells School International in East of Kailash released a list of 77 shortlisted students and put 40 names on the waiting list. Delhi Public School in East of Kailash selected 90 candidates and placed 150 on the waiting list, while Ambience Public School in Safdarjung Enclave selected 207 students.
The second list is expected on February 9, and the admission process will close on March 19. A district-level monitoring cell has been set up to ensure compliance and address grievances. Parents who registered can check lists and visit schools to complete admission-related formalities between January 24 and February 3, as directed by the Directorate of Education.
