Two more suspects are in custody after a pepper spray incident at Heathrow left 21 injured, including a three-year-old, suspected to be linked to a suitcase robbery.
Two more people have been arrested in connection with the Heathrow Airport incident in which 21 people were injured after a pepper spray attack. The investigation suggests it may be linked to a suitcase robbery that occurred in the Terminal 3 car park.
A 24-year-old man was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault, while a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both remain in custody as detectives piece together what happened.
The incident unfolded on Sunday in a multi-storey car park adjacent to Terminal 3. After the attack, two women had their suitcases taken from a car park lift. In total five people required hospital treatment, with some discharged after initial care.
Police say the pepper spray was used to facilitate the robbery attempt. Officers are appealing for witnesses and reviewing security footage as they trace those involved. Heathrow has stepped up security checks in the area while the investigation continues.
