Oasis Not Headlining Glasto 2027: Eavis Puts Rumours to Rest!

Despite widespread speculation and fervent hopes from fans, Oasis will not be headlining Glastonbury Festival in 2027. This definitive confirmation comes directly from co-organiser Emily Eavis, who took to social media to quell the buzzing rumours. The rock band had recently announced a 38-date tour across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the US for 2027, which included dates in Manchester on the Friday and Saturday of Glastonbury.

This scheduling, coupled with a free Sunday slot, led many to believe that the Gallagher brothers might make a triumphant return to Worthy Farm's Pyramid Stage. However, Eavis directly responded to a fan's Instagram comment, stating, "Sorry Jimmy, not this time!" This announcement echoes earlier comments from frontman Liam Gallagher, who last month on X (formerly Twitter) debunked similar reports, writing, "It's not happening.

So all you Croc wearing flag waving [people] can calm [...] down." The band, which took 2026 off, reunited for an acclaimed live tour in 2025, reportedly grossing £300 million.

Several factors make an Oasis Glastonbury headline unlikely.

The band's Manchester dates directly conflict with the festival.

Furthermore, Glastonbury is known for paying headliners significantly less than they might earn elsewhere, a fact Emily Eavis has been transparent about in the past. The Gallagher brothers, now in their 50s, also did not play three consecutive nights during their comeback tour, making the rigorous demands of a festival headline slot seem even less feasible. Oasis last played Glastonbury in 2004, having also performed in 1994 and headlining in 1995.

While both Liam and Noel Gallagher have graced Worthy Farm as solo acts during their years apart, a joint return in 2027 is now off the cards. As the festival prepares to put tickets on sale on October 1st, speculation continues regarding who will headline.

Taylor Swift and Madonna have been perennially rumoured, though Eavis has also dispelled Madonna's involvement.
