Twisted Plot: Fake Insta ID Lured Fiance to His Death at Lohagad Fort
Shocking details emerge in the Lohagad Fort murder! Siya Goyal allegedly used a fake Instagram ID to lure her fiance Ketan Agarwal to his death after elaborate planning inspired by films and podcasts.
The chilling details surrounding the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort have sent shockwaves, revealing an elaborate plot masterminded by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her accomplices. A sprawling 5,053-page chargesheet filed by the police paints a grim picture of meticulous planning, failed attempts, and a shocking use of digital deception.
Investigators reveal that the conspirators initially considered hiring outsiders to seriously injure Agarwal but abandoned the idea due to fears of future complications. They then allegedly decided to commit the crime themselves.
The planning phase reportedly involved watching crime films, listening to podcasts on how to evade police detection, and even studying real-life cases, including the infamous Meghalaya honeymoon murder where a wife was arrested for her husband's death.
A thorough recce of several locations around Lonavala, including Tiger Point, was conducted by Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary to find an isolated spot without CCTV surveillance. Lohagad Fort was ultimately chosen due to a tragic incident in March 2025 where a young woman died after falling from the fort. The accused allegedly believed that Agarwal's death at the same location could easily be disguised as an accidental fall while taking a selfie.
Before the fatal incident, several attempts to eliminate Agarwal reportedly failed.
On June 4, Goyal allegedly insisted on a Lohagad visit before their scheduled pre-wedding shoot in Bali. The plot was disrupted on June 6 when Goyal reportedly tore up Agarwal's passport at a cafe, preventing the Bali trip.
Another attempt on June 14 saw Goyal allegedly try to push Agarwal from the fort, which failed. She then reportedly tried to use a fake snake sighting to make him move towards the edge, but this too was unsuccessful.
The final, successful ruse involved creating a fake Instagram account named 'Mahi', using a known girl's photograph. On June 18, messages from this fake account convinced Agarwal that 'Mahi' was Goyal's friend and suggested he take Goyal to Lohagad for a surprise birthday celebration.
This digital deception ultimately lured Ketan Agarwal to his tragic end.
The fake account was deleted shortly after the murder.
This case highlights a disturbing level of premeditation and manipulation, bringing to light the dark side of alleged betrayal and cunning. The extensive chargesheet and the ongoing investigation are expected to unravel more layers of this complex and deeply unsettling crime.
