Dosa Dispute Turns Fatal: Man Stabbed in Bengaluru Hotel

In Bengaluru's Basaveshwaranagar, a 35-year-old loan-recovery agent named Shashikumar was killed after a seemingly trivial dispute at a busy dosa corner. Police say the incident unfolded around 11:45 p.m. on March 2 at Sri Raghavendra Veg Dosa Corner on Timmayya Road, where Shashikumar had sat down for a meal. The argument began after Shashikumar accidentally stepped on the foot of one of the accused. The confrontation reportedly escalated quickly, and Manjunath and his brother Bhagyaraj alias Papu allegedly stabbed Shashikumar in the neck with a sharp weapon. He collapsed at the spot.

Both suspects are said to have fled the scene before police arrived. Local officers launched a manhunt, questioning witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby shops. Investigations are focused on establishing the exact sequence of events and whether the attack was spontaneous or premeditated. The victim's family described him as a devoted husband and father of an infant, expressing grief over the loss. Shashikumar's death has prompted concerns about violence turning deadly over what many would consider a minor quarrel. Police have not yet announced any charges and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Residents say such incidents shake the sense of safety in the neighborhood, and officials have promised stepped-up patrols and outreach as investigators continue to piece together what happened that night.
