Dams in Tamil Nadu show mixed water levels today, with Papanasam at 90.55 ft and Mettur at 89.60 ft as inflows and discharges are monitored.
Water levels in Tamil Nadu's major reservoirs are being watched as the state edges into the drier months. On Wednesday, Papanasam dam registered 90.55 feet, well below its 143 ft full capacity, with an inflow of 242.60 cusecs and a discharge of 1,400 cusecs. The adjacent Manimuthar dam stood at 94.68 ft (its full height is 118 ft), with an inflow of 97.04 cusecs and a discharge of 495 cusecs.
In Mullaperiyar, the water level stood at 118.75 feet.
Similarly, Mettur Dam stood at 89.60 feet. These readings reflect the current status of the state's key reservoirs and their capacity to support irrigation and other water needs.
