Mysuru Career Fair: Commissioner's Advice to Choose Careers by Interest

At The Hindu EducationPlus Career Counselling Fair-2026 held at Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering in Mysuru, Regional Commissioner Nitesh Patil inaugurated the event and urged students to choose their careers wisely. He stressed that the right environment shapes futures and encouraged informed decisions rather than rushing into a best or first option.\n\nSpeaking to students, Patil said streams should be selected based on personal interests and natural strengths in today’s competitive world. He noted that deciding after II PU can be challenging for both students and parents, and advised planning short-, medium-, and long-term goals while consulting experts available at the fair.\n\nAn advocate for entrepreneurship, he encouraged learners to think beyond becoming employees and to aim for creating jobs. He shared that he had studied engineering at MNNIT Prayagraj and even prepared for UPSC exams, illustrating that there is no single path to success.\n\nAddressing the AI debate, Patil argued that human skills would remain irreplaceable. He urged students to work hard, clear doubts with experts, and use the fair as a platform to chart a practical, passion-driven career plan.
