The Civil Aviation Ministry has announced that a preliminary report on the Baramati Learjet crash will be released within 30 days. The investigation is being conducted by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau and flight recorders are being examined as investigators seek a clear, evidence-based understanding of what happened.
In addition to the data from the flight recorders, the ministry said special audits of aircraft operators are underway to strengthen safety oversight, with findings expected to inform future policy decisions.
The announcement comes amid calls for greater accountability. Rohit Pawar, a member of the NCP (SP), urged the Civil Aviation Minister to step down until the probe is complete, while Supriya Sule noted the importance of addressing public concerns and ensuring security for those involved.
The incident involving Ajit Pawar's Baramati-bound Learjet last month has prompted a wider discussion about aviation safety in the state, though officials stressed that no conclusions have yet been drawn. Investigators are focusing on data from the flight recorders and other evidence to determine probable causes.
Officials emphasised that the probe remains thorough and independent, with a commitment to share findings once evidence-based conclusions are reached.
