The mysterious death of model and actor Twisha Sharma has gripped the public as new legal battles unfold. Twisha was found dead on May 12 in her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills, just five months after her wedding. The case has sparked intense debate over dowry harassment and the influence of powerful families.
Her husband, Samarth Singh, who has been on the run since the incident, has now approached the Jabalpur High Court for anticipatory bail. This legal move comes after a magistrate court rejected his previous plea. Notably, his mother, Giribala Singh—a retired District Sessions Judge—has already been granted bail in the case.
Twisha’s family alleges that she was pushed to her death following constant harassment for dowry. On the other hand, the Singh family has claimed that Twisha struggled with drug addiction. Adding to the controversy, leaked audio recordings have surfaced where Giribala Singh is allegedly heard questioning Twisha’s fidelity and personal history, which the family views as an attempt at character assassination.
Authorities have taken several steps to apprehend the husband, including offering a ₹10,000 reward for information leading to Samarth's arrest and initiating the process to revoke his passport. However, the investigation faces a strange logistical hurdle. While a second autopsy has been approved to provide more clarity, Bhopal reportedly lacks the specific -80 degree storage facility required to preserve the body for the necessary forensic tests.
Twisha's family has raised further concerns about the integrity of the investigation. They allege that Giribala Singh used her judicial influence to contact individuals within the legal system and even reached out to CCTV installers at the house immediately following the death. As the Jabalpur High Court prepares to hear the bail application, all eyes remain on the judicial process to ensure a fair investigation into the actor's untimely passing.
