Gill Urges Swift Squad Finalization for ODI World Cup Prep: 'No Time to Experiment'
Indian ODI captain Shubman Gill emphasizes the urgent need for a settled squad and strong combination, citing 'no time to experiment' as India gears up for next year's World Cup. Focus on discipline & resources!
Indian ODI captain Shubman Gill has delivered a stern message regarding the nation's preparations for next year's World Cup, stating emphatically that there is 'no time to experiment'. His comments come after a year in charge that has reportedly exposed a lack of settled resources within the squad.
Gill highlighted ongoing issues with injuries and inconsistent form affecting the crucial pace attack.
He stressed the importance of finalizing India's strongest combination as soon as possible, even with a disrupted New Zealand series on the horizon. The captain is actively assessing various options, particularly for the critical No. 8 spot in the batting lineup.
Beyond personnel, Gill also demanded significant improvement in two key areas: fielding and bowling discipline.
These aspects, he believes, are vital for India to perform optimally on the world stage.
His remarks underscore a sense of urgency and a desire to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of World Cup glory.
