Henry Golding Steers New Thomas the Tank Engine Series!🚂

Get ready for a fresh ride on the Island of Sodor! Acclaimed actor Henry Golding is set to lead the voice cast as the new narrator for the highly anticipated animated revival of Thomas The Tank Engine. The beloved blue train, which has charmed young audiences for over 80 years, is returning to screens with a modern visual upgrade and an exciting new ensemble of voices.

The latest installment, titled "Thomas & Friends Railway Stories", is chugging onto YouTube this Thursday with a special 30-minute episode called 'Really Helpful Engines'. Fans can also catch it on Channel 5's Milkshake! in October, with the full series expected to roll out in early 2027.

Golding, known for his roles in blockbusters like "Crazy Rich Asians" and "The Gentlemen", steps into the iconic narrator role, previously held by the legendary Sir Ringo Starr.

Golding shared his excitement, acknowledging the "shadow of giants" left by his predecessors, including Sir Ringo and Pierce Brosnan.

He expressed enthusiasm for bringing a "new spin" and "excitement" to the series, ensuring it's "up to date." He also highlighted the enduring themes of friendship and teamwork, which are central to the show and reinforced in this new iteration.

"It's so important to impart that on our children," Golding emphasized, "because, you know, sometimes we often feel alone, but we need to realise that our friends are more than willing to help.

But Golding isn't the only new voice making headlines. The iconic whistle of Thomas himself will now be brought to life by 13-year-old Harry Sparkes from Harpenden in Hertfordshire. This marks Harry's professional voice-over debut, a secret he skillfully kept from his classmates for nine months, often telling them he was off to physiotherapy for a foot injury!

Harry's joy is palpable.

It feels amazing, because I played and watched Thomas as a kid, and now I get to be Thomas. It just feels insane,

he exclaimed, expressing his excitement to be "part of something which kids from the next generation will get to grow up to watch." He anticipates his friends will be "shocked" to hear his voice coming from their TV screens, describing it as "crazy."

Mattel, the proud owner of the Thomas The Tank Engine franchise, has teased that the new series will introduce viewers to a "refreshed world of Sodor" while faithfully retaining the "iconic railway action" that has been cherished since its debut as a classic book in 1945.
