A tragedy unfolded in Neemuch district when a suspended sub-inspector, Manoj Yadav, allegedly drove his sports utility vehicle into a line of motorcycles near Bhadbhadia village on the Neemuch-Jawad road, killing a college teacher and injuring several others. The victim, 42-year-old Dasharath Singh, died at the scene, while his 10-year-old son Harshit suffered grievous injuries that led to the amputation of both legs to save his life. Singh’s wife Lalita and their six-year-old daughter Jaya were also injured in the crash. A motorcyclist identified as Bhupaal Singh sustained injuries as well, and several other riders received minor injuries. The incident prompted protests from family members demanding strict action against the accused and financial support from authorities.
Following the crash, ASI Manoj Yadav was suspended and later produced in court, where he received bail. Authorities have said the medical reports to confirm whether Yadav was intoxicated are awaited, and a case has been registered against him. Eyewitnesses described a shocking moment as the SUV plowed into the bikes, causing widespread damage and panic among bystanders. The investigation is ongoing as police look into the circumstances surrounding the incident and potential contributing factors such as alcohol use and road safety.
