The ill-fated aircraft had taken off from North Weald airfield, approximately seven miles away, before the incident occurred around 12:30 PM on Tuesday. Essex Police confirmed the fatalities, stating that formal identification of the two people on board is still pending.
Detective Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate described the investigation as complex, given the nature of the incident. He assured the public that the families of the deceased are being supported during this incredibly difficult time, with thoughts extended to them.
