A pillar from an under-construction Mumbai metro collapses in Mulund, killing one and injuring several as officials order a safety inquiry.
In Mulund West, a section of a pillar from an under-construction metro rail line collapsed onto traffic on LBS Road, near the Johnson & Johnson factory, around 12:15 p.m., officials said. The incident occurred near Pier P196 of the Rajiv (Milan) stretch, close to the Mulund Fire Station, when a parapet segment fell from height and struck a passing auto rickshaw and a private car. Four people were injured in the collapse, with one fatality reported at Upasani Hospital—Ramdhan Yadav died, Rajkumar Indrajeet Yadav is in the ICU in critical condition, and Mahendra Pratap Yadav and Deepa Ruhiya are in stable condition.
