Wanted Criminal Govind Sharma Shot Dead in Muzaffarpur Apartment Basement

In a shocking late-night incident, a man with a heavy criminal record was gunned down in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. Govind Sharma, who was wanted in at least six different criminal cases, met a violent end on Sunday night. The shooting took place in the basement of the Icon Towers apartment, located on Amar Cinema road, where Sharma had been living in a rented flat.

According to the police, the attack happened between 9:45 pm and 10:00 pm. Unidentified armed assailants targeted Sharma while he was in the basement area. When investigators arrived at the scene, they recovered five live cartridges and six empty shells, indicating a high-intensity confrontation. Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra confirmed that a forensic team has already gathered evidence from the spot to help track down the killers.

Sharma was no stranger to the law. He was a prime accused in high-profile cases, including the murders of former Muzaffarpur mayor Sameer Kumar and property dealer Ashutosh Sahu. Two vehicles found in the basement, reportedly belonging to Sharma, are also being examined as part of the probe.

The local police have now formed a special investigation team, led by the city superintendent of police, to solve the case. They are currently scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify the gunmen. Officials are looking into every possible angle, including whether Sharma’s own criminal past played a role in his death. While the investigation continues, the police have assured the public that they will soon apprehend those responsible for the execution in the heart of the city.
