Tirumala Temple Reopens After Lunar Eclipse Purification Rites

The Tirumala Venkateswara temple remained closed to devotees for nearly ten hours on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, as the lunar eclipse passed across the region. In keeping with Agama traditions that govern the hill shrine, the towering wooden doors were shut about six hours before the celestial event.
