Oil-marketing companies on Friday announced a ₹3 per litre hike for petrol and diesel across all variants, effective immediately. In Delhi, regular petrol now costs ₹97.77 per litre while diesel is priced at ₹90.67, marking another round of higher fuel costs for daily commuters. CNG in the national capital has also gone up by ₹2 per kg, now priced at ₹79.09.
Premium variants were not spared; IndianOil’s XG (a premium petrol) is now ₹95.99 per litre, and the high-octane XP95 has climbed to ₹104.88 per litre. The broader price movement comes amid persistent pressure on oil-marketing companies’ margins and growing concerns over under-recoveries in a volatile global energy market.
Officials and industry observers point to ongoing disruptions tied to the West Asia conflict, which have pushed crude prices higher and tightened supply in some regions.
