AP Poised for Record Investments as VP Hails India's Growth at CII Summit
Vice-President hails India’s growth and AP’s investor push at the CII Partnership Summit, highlighting GST reforms, infrastructure and a plan to attract $500B in three years.
At the 30th CII Partnership Summit-2025 in Visakhapatnam, the Vice-President emphasized that India is emerging as an economic powerhouse under Prime Minister Modi, with the Centre and states aligning to drive development in the country and Andhra Pradesh. He noted that reducing poverty hinges on wealth creation, and highlighted reforms such as GST rationalisation and a strong focus on infrastructure as key drivers of growth. The message was clear: now is the right time to invest in India and in Andhra Pradesh, where the state government is working in mission mode to reset the post-bifurcation trajectory and put the state back on a path to prosperity.
Radhakrishnan praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for governance and policy frameworks he described as best-in-class, encouraging investors to explore opportunities in AP’s blue economy, agriculture, and food processing sectors. The remarks underscored a broader belief that targeted reforms and strategic sector development can translate into tangible opportunities for business and communities alike.
Governor S. Abdul Nazeer joined in appreciating the state’s approach, calling Naidu’s leadership instrumental in shaping Andhra Pradesh as a future-ready, innovative state with a clear commitment to prosperity. The dialogue reflected a shared confidence that AP’s development agenda is closely aligned with national growth goals, particularly in sectors with strong export and employment potential.
In a related session, Nara Lokesh highlighted Visakhapatnam as a growth corridor for the state, stressing that permissions and land allocations for investments were being streamlined to accelerate project timelines. The emphasis on ease of doing business at the ground level signaled a practical push to translate policy into faster approvals and real outcomes for investors and local communities.
Chief Minister Naidu further articulated AP’s bold target of attracting around $500 billion in investments over the next three years, with sovereign guarantees available if needed to reassure major players. The declarations collectively painted a picture of a state and country ready to absorb large-scale investments while continuing reforms that enhance competitiveness and economic resilience.
