Barry Manilow is postponing more arena shows after cancer surgery, with doctors telling him his lungs aren’t ready for a 90-minute performance. A social-media update described a very depressing visit to the surgeon, noting that despite treadmill workouts, he could not sing more than three songs in a row.
He had surgery to remove a cancerous spot on his lung earlier, and was planning a 2026 farewell tour. He had already pushed back Las Vegas residency dates earlier this month and had hoped to resume the arena dates soon, but the latest medical advice changed those plans.
The new update places the first batch of arena shows from February 27 to March 17 on hold, with the possibility of Las Vegas shows at the very end of March and a second batch in early April, depending on recovery progress.
Manilow wrote, “I’m SO, SO sorry I have to reschedule some of these first Arena shows. Again!” and added, “But when I do come back, I will COME BACK!!!” The singer remains hopeful about returning to the stage once his lungs are strong enough.
