TNUSRB exams draw 19,000+ candidates in Tamil Nadu across two districts
Thousands gathered for TNUSRB's written exams in Cuddalore and Villupuram for Grade II police, jail warder, and fireman posts, with 19,016 candidates taking the test.
Thousands of hopefuls turned out Sunday for the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board's written examination for Grade II Police Constables, Grade II Jail Warders, and Firemen.
In Cuddalore district, 9,160 candidates appeared for the exam out of 10,345 registered, while 1,133 did not turn up. The test was conducted at eight centres under the supervision of Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar. The orderly conduct of the examination and the readiness of the centres were noted during the day.
In Villupuram district, around 9,856 candidates sat the test. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Villupuram Range) E.S. Uma and Superintendent of Police P. Saravanan personally inspected the arrangements at the examination centres to ensure smooth proceedings.
Together, the two districts saw about 19,016 candidates taking the written test for these Tamil Nadu government jobs. Separately, Tiruchi city reported over 3,000 candidates appearing for a TNUSRB written exam, and Madurai city saw more than 5,600 candidates in another session of police recruitment testing, underscoring strong participation across the state.
Officials emphasized the importance of fair invigilation and a smooth examination process, with results expected after the usual multi-stage selection procedures that include further tests for eligible candidates. The TNUSRB recruitment drive continues to attract a large pool of applicants aiming for roles in policing, jail administration, and fire services across Tamil Nadu.
