Epic 'Batman: Knightfall' Animated Trilogy Unveiled, Trailer Drops!

DC and Warner Bros. Animation have officially released the first trailer for the highly anticipated "Batman: Knightfall" animated trilogy. This new three-part movie event is set to adapt one of the most influential and brutal storylines in the Dark Knight’s storied history, promising an epic cinematic experience for fans.

The project made its world premiere at the prestigious 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where "Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall" was met with thunderous applause. The full trilogy is slated for a wider release later this year, bringing the landmark 1990s comic book crossover to animated life.

The story plunges Bruce Wayne into one of the greatest challenges of his crime-fighting career. It all begins when the cunning mastermind Bane orchestrates a massive breakout at Arkham Asylum, unleashing Gotham’s most dangerous criminals upon the city. This forces Batman into a relentless, grueling battle against his entire rogues’ gallery, pushing him to his physical and psychological limits.

The newly released trailer powerfully highlights the arrival of Bane, the calculating antagonist whose strategic campaign against Batman culminates in one of the most iconic and shocking moments in comic book lore – the breaking of the Bat. The footage also teases the crucial introduction of Jean-Paul Valley, also known as Azrael, whose role becomes increasingly significant as the saga unfolds, filling a void left by Bruce Wayne.

Michael Mando, celebrated for his role in "Better Call Saul," steps into the formidable boots of Bane. Rounding out the central trio is Pablo Schreiber, from "Halo," who takes on the complex character of Jean-Paul Valley. The creative team includes Jeff Wamester as director and Jeremy Adams as screenwriter, both veterans of major DC animated productions. Rick Morales serves as supervising producer, with Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau producing.
