The girl's mother recounted to reporters how one particular stray dog, accompanying their search party, led them towards the basement of an under-construction building in the Raj Nagar extension.
"It was dark, but we went inside to search. A stray dog was ‘accompanying’ us. Seconds later, it went towards the basement and stood still. We noticed the dog and followed it to take a look. The body was right there," the mother tearfully shared. The girl's body was found nearly five hours after she went missing.
Following the horrific discovery, the parents, with the help of locals, managed to identify the house of the alleged culprits. The police were alerted around 1 AM, and swift action led to the detention of two suspects, one of whom is reportedly a minor. Initial reports suggest that the accused sexually assaulted the child before throwing her body down a shaft. CCTV footage and local intelligence were crucial in identifying the perpetrators.
