Infosys posts 21% Q4 profit jump; plans 20,000 freshers in FY27
Infosys posts a 21% rise in Q4 net profit to ₹8,501 crore and plans to hire 20,000 freshers in FY27, highlighting AI-led growth and margin resilience.
Infosys, based in Bengaluru, posted a 21% year-on-year rise in fourth-quarter net profit to ₹8,501 crore, with quarterly revenue at ₹46,402 crore, up 13.4% from a year earlier. For the full year, the company reported revenue of ₹178,650 crore, up 9.6% YoY, and net profit of ₹29,440 crore, up 10.2%.
The Bengaluru-based tech firm also announced a hiring spree, planning to bring in 20,000 freshers in FY27, in a staggered rollout after hiring over 20,000 in FY26. The headcount ended FY26 at about 328,594 employees, up by nearly 5,000 during the year.
Infosys's AI strategy remains at the forefront, with platforms Topaz for AI and Cobalt for cloud, as it pursues large deals and modernization projects. In FY26, the company closed large deals with a total contract value of about $3.2 billion, and net-new deals accounted for a significant share of activity.
On the outlook, management guided constant-currency revenue growth of 1.5% to 3.5% for FY27, with an operating margin target of 20% to 22%. While the macro climate is mixed — US demand holding up and geopolitical tensions in West Asia — Infosys expects continued enterprise IT spend to support its trajectory.
Analysts see Infosys continuing to differentiate itself with an AI-first delivery model, even as some peers face questions about near-term momentum. The hiring push signals confidence in a longer roadmap for growth in a still challenging environment.
