Alison Hammond's Hospital Dash After On-Air "This Morning" Exit!
TV favourite Alison Hammond rushed off "This Morning" with heart palpitations, later reassuring fans from hospital. Get the full story on her health check!
Beloved TV personality Alison Hammond underwent a heart check-up in hospital after unexpectedly leaving ITV's "This Morning" live broadcast on Friday. The presenter, 51, has since assured her followers that she is "fine" but acknowledged the concern sparked by her sudden exit. During the show, Hammond was seen appearing to clutch her chest before being assisted off the set by her co-host, Dermot O'Leary.
O'Leary later informed viewers that Alison was "feeling a little unwell." The incident occurred around 11:30 BST during a segment about pets, approximately an hour and a half into the programme. From her hospital bed, Hammond posted a video confirming she had experienced "a little bit of a palpitation" during the show. Despite the scare, she maintained a positive outlook, stating, "I know you're all worried about me.
Honestly, I am fine. First of all, I'm getting my old ticker checked out." She added, "I'm hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that." The Birmingham-born presenter, also known for co-hosting "The Great British Bake Off," extended her apologies to viewers for her dramatic departure. "I'm so sorry I left you," she said.
I would never normally do that. I would never leave a TV show, so you know I wasn't very well.
She also thanked fans for their "lovely messages" and praised the medical staff, concluding, "Hopefully I'm going to be all right. The doctors are so lovely, and they're checking me out, and hopefully everything's going to be fine.
Everything is fine, look. I'm rocking it.
Look how good I look," she joked, still wearing her make-up from the show.
Dermot O'Leary, 53, kept viewers updated on Hammond's condition, first stating she had "ducked out" and hoped she'd return, then confirming she would not be back for the rest of the show. Hammond's career began as a contestant on "Big Brother" and she has since become a regular on British television, joining "This Morning" as a co-host in 2021 and "Bake Off" in 2023.
