Julien Baker Surprises Nashville with Pop-Up Show & New Era Hints!

Julien Baker, the acclaimed artist known for her powerful solo work and her role in the supergroup boygenius, has just announced a surprise pop-up show at Jack White's Third Man Records in Nashville. Fans are buzzing as the concert is set for Wednesday in the iconic Blue Room, promising an intimate and unforgettable experience.

This announcement comes on the heels of her performance at Almanac Pond Farm in Nantucket, MA, and a memorable cameo during Lucy Dacus's set at Outside Lands, where they duetted on “Bullseye.”

Since the explosive success of boygenius, alongside bandmates Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers, Baker has been relatively quiet on the solo front. In 2023, boygenius captivated audiences, gracing the cover of Rolling Stone, releasing their full-length debut The Record, embarking on a massive tour, performing on SNL, and ultimately securing three Grammy Awards from six nominations.

Following a secret acoustic show in 2024, the supergroup entered a hiatus, allowing its members to explore individual projects.

During this period, Dacus released her 2025 solo album Forever Is a Feeling, and Bridgers returned with Lost Weekend.

Baker herself ventured on a solo tour in 2024 before teaming up with Torres for the country-infused album Send a Prayer My Way.

However, that tour was cut short in May 2025, with Baker explaining she was “prioritizing her well-being and taking time to focus on her health.” Her last solo album, Little Oblivions, was released in 2021, making it five years since fans have had a dedicated solo release from her.

The Blue Room announcement, coupled with hints of new music, strongly suggests that a “new era is incoming” for Baker's solo career, potentially teasing her highly anticipated fourth solo LP.

The Nashville show will also feature special guest Kate Teague, adding another layer of excitement.
