As a huge Harry Potter fan, HBO has officially announced the lead cast for its upcoming Harry Potter television series, set to premiere in 2026. This new adaptation aims to faithfully retell J.K. Rowling's seven-book saga, with each season dedicated to a single novel.
After an extensive casting process that involved thousands of auditions across the UK and Ireland, three young actors have been selected to portray the iconic trio:
Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter
Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger
Arabella Stanton, born in 2013 or 2014, is a British actress known for her stage performances. She played Matilda Wormwood in the West End production of Matilda The Musical from September 2023 until 2024 and portrayed Control in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express from July 2024 until February 2025. Her casting as Hermione has garnered attention for aligning closely with the character's original description in the books, particularly her bushy hair and prominent teeth.
