Luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises is making a bold move to enhance its guest experience, announcing plans to significantly reduce the capacity of three of its most popular ships. This strategic decision aims to create even more spacious and opulent suites for passengers sailing on the Explorer-class fleet.
The transformation will affect the Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Splendor, and Seven Seas Grandeur. Following scheduled dry docks in 2027 and 2028, each ship's capacity will be adjusted from 373 suites down to 344 suites. This means a reduction of 29 suites per vessel, directly paving the way for larger accommodations across the board.
Among the exciting changes, Regent Seven Seas will introduce larger Veranda Suites, which are set to become the largest entry-level suites in the ultra-luxury cruise industry. These will expand from their current 29 square meters to a more generous 38 to 43 square meters. Guests can look forward to lavish features such as walk-in closets, double vanities, and expansive balconies.
Additionally, the ships will incorporate new Horizon Penthouse Suites, first seen on the upcoming Seven Seas Prestige. Ranging from 57 to 67 square meters, these suites boast oversized balconies, full bath suites, and spacious living areas. For the ultimate indulgence, three new Distinctive Suites, named Explorer Suite, Splendor Suite, and Grandeur Suite on their respective ships, will be added. These grand accommodations will span 76 to 85 square meters, featuring king-size "Elite Slumber Beds," ample sitting and dining spaces, one-and-a-half marble and stone bathrooms, and large private balconies. These top-tier suites come with a host of premium amenities, including fresh orchid arrangements, cashmere blankets, in-suite caviar service, a selection of pillow styles, and the dedicated services of a personal butler.
The renovation schedule begins with Seven Seas Splendor entering dry dock in November 2027. Seven Seas Explorer will follow in April 2028, with Seven Seas Grandeur completing the upgrade in October 2028.
