Shocking Feud Rocks Dolly Parton's Estate: Nephew Accused of Threats & Intimidation
A bitter battle has erupted over Dolly Parton's legacy, with her management company accusing nephew Bryan Seaver of threats and attempted extortion. Uncover the dramatic claims in this unfolding celebrity estate saga.
A bitter battle has erupted over the legacy and business interests of country music icon Dolly Parton, who passed away recently at the age of 80. Her management company, She's Alive, has publicly accused her nephew, Bryan Seaver, of "threats, intimidation, and coercion," leading to legal action and a request for a temporary civil restraining order.
Bryan Seaver, who served as Parton's head of security for two decades and was handpicked to announce her death, is alleged to have mounted "an obscene, deliberate and escalating campaign of threats." Court filings reveal claims that Seaver vowed to ruin Parton's vast empire if her estate failed to compensate him as he demanded. This dramatic turn comes shortly after Seaver was fired from his security role by She's Alive, a move he previously described as "unexpected" and "unexplained."
In response to the accusations, Seaver has vehemently denied making threats, stating that text messages and emails cited in the court application have been taken out of context.
Speaking to TMZ, he claimed that many of the messages were merely "rage talk" between two grieving men.
However, he did acknowledge his background, stating, "I am a career soldier and military contractor and do conduct arms deals for foreign governments.
I am a security professional and I am a killer." He maintained that he was speaking "frankly in a private way with Danny [Nozell] who I thought was my friend."
According to court documents filed in Nashville by She's Alive, which is run by Parton's longtime manager Danny Nozell, Seaver allegedly threatened to destroy Parton's brand. One alleged message quoted in the filings states his intention to become "the hand of retribution for my entire family." Another chilling message reportedly read: "I'm going to set up a podcast dedicated to ruining Dolly's brand partnerships and telling the violations these people have done on us.
It's going to be great.
Or [expletive] pay me."
The allegations extend to claims that Seaver used his experience as a military contractor to intimidate employees.
In one exchange with Parton's lawyers, he is accused of describing himself as a "killer" and boasting about selling $27 million in arms and ammunition to Haitian police on the day his aunt died, adding, "Everyone needs to be worried about what I might do." The intense nature of these messages has reportedly led to the resignation of several employees and lawyers associated with Parton's trusts and estates, compelling She's Alive to hire private security for its staff, even at their homes.
Prior to this legal dispute, Bryan Seaver gained public attention when he delivered the somber news of his aunt's passing in a video posted to her Instagram account on August 25. In the video, he introduced himself and shared the "unexpected news," stating that making the announcement was something Dolly had asked of him years ago.
