Kyiv Hit Overnight by Drone and Missile Attacks; Casualties Reported
Overnight attacks on Kyiv with drones and missiles leave casualties as officials tally the damage and residents seek safety.
Kyiv woke to a night of blasts as Russia pressed its bombardment with drones and missiles. City authorities said the strikes left at least one person dead and 16 wounded, with damage reported across several districts.
Across the capital, additional strikes were reported, tallying at least four injuries in separate locations and, in another strike, two people killed as rescuers worked through the rubble.
Rescuers searched wrecked flats as emergency crews evacuated residents and treated the injured. Among those hurt were civilians, including children, officials said, underscoring the human toll of the latest escalation.
As the city tries to recover, residents are urged to stay in shelters when warnings are issued and remain cautious as investigators assess the damage and what comes next for Kyiv.
