SBI Flagged Ram Temple Donation Irregularities Months Ago: Was Warning Ignored?

An alleged manipulation of donations at the revered Ram temple in Ayodhya could have been prevented, according to recent reports, had an early warning from the State Bank of India (SBI) been acted upon. This issue has come to light following an investigation into the handling of offerings made by devotees, leading to the immediate removal of all 44 employees involved in the counting process.

Sources reveal that nearly three months prior to the recent scandal, the SBI had detected suspicious activities involving staff engaged in counting donations. A senior bank official confirmed that management observed irregularities during the counting process and flagged concerns regarding certain employees. The bank had formally written to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, specifically recommending the removal of these counting staff members due to their conduct and functioning.

As a result, the same individuals continued to handle the counting of donations from devotees.
