Rahul Gandhi Slams CBSE Over Results Scam: Calls for Judicial Inquiry
Rahul Gandhi demands answers over the CBSE Class 12 results controversy. Is there a scam behind the Coempt Edu Teck contract? Millions of students await justice.
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has launched a blistering attack on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Modi government, alleging massive irregularities in the recently declared Class 12 examination results. Gandhi claims that a 'scam' has taken place, leaving millions of students and their parents in a state of shock and uncertainty. At the heart of the controversy is a contract awarded to a company called Coempt Edu Teck for a new on-screen marking (OSM) system.
The controversy erupted as evaluators began reporting significant issues with the OSM system used for this year’s board examinations. Reports suggest that the system introduced a workflow that was entirely unfamiliar to teachers, resulting in shoddy answer-script scans and, in some cases, incorrectly recorded marks. Parents have also come forward with allegations that many answer scripts were mixed up, leading to results that do not reflect the students' actual performance. Gandhi questioned why this specific company was chosen, especially given its alleged previous involvement in controversies under the name Globarena.
Rahul Gandhi has posed several pointed questions to the government, asking on whose orders the contract was given and which rules were bypassed to favor Coempt Edu Teck. He highlighted that the company had already been embroiled in past controversies, questioning why the CBSE failed to conduct thorough background checks. 'Denial is not the answer,' Gandhi remarked, responding to CBSE's dismissal of his claims. The board has maintained that all procedures were followed strictly and that the selection of the agency was done transparently.
Demanding immediate action, Gandhi has called for an independent judicial inquiry and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unearth the truth. He emphasized that the silence from the Prime Minister’s office on such a critical issue affecting the youth of the country indicates a lack of accountability. As the debate intensifies, students across the nation are left wondering if their hard work has been compromised by technical failures or administrative negligence.
