Career-defining performances from Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, and their teammates propelled India to a title that will energize girls and aspiring cricketers across the country.
Rohit Sharma, India’s top ODI batter, was seen moved to tears as the victory sank in, a reflection of how this triumph resonated beyond the dressing room and into the broader sporting culture. The win is being hailed as a turning point, with pundits suggesting it could spark a sustained surge in investment, infrastructure, and participation at all levels of women’s cricket in India.
