CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Reveals US Study Funding Amid Scrutiny
NEET protest leader Abhijeet Dipke clarifies how he funded his U.S. education amidst RTI queries. He reveals it was through a scholarship and an education loan. Get the full story!
Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and a prominent figure leading high-decibel protests over the alleged NEET paper leaks, has recently addressed scrutiny regarding the funding for his studies abroad. Dipke clarified that his Master of Science degree in Public Relations from the College of Communication at Boston University was made possible through a scholarship and an education loan, dispelling rumors of any questionable financing.
Speaking from his home in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on Monday, August 3, 2026, Dipke explicitly stated, "I received a scholarship from Boston University, and for the remaining amount, I took an education loan. It is still pending and has to be repaid." He emphasized that the ongoing "fight is not personal," aiming to refocus attention on the core issues of educational accessibility and integrity in India, rather than individual finances.
His clarification comes amidst a Right to Information (RTI) query initiated by a Surat-based activist on August 1, seeking details into his educational expenses and his father's financial background. Unfazed by these inquiries, the 30-year-old Dipke stated, "Those who wish to investigate my education funding are free to do so." He also dismissed comparisons drawn by exiled Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen between the CJP's Delhi protest and the 2024 stir that led to the ousting of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League regime, asserting, "Protests in Bangladesh, Nepal are being used to defame us; we are different."
Dipke, who returned to India in June to lead student agitations, underscored that education in India has become unaffordable and inaccessible for many. He indicated that the responsibility to address these systemic issues has become even more pressing after the recent protests, and the CJP team is slated for expansion soon. His transparency regarding his educational funding aims to counter personal attacks and re-anchor the discourse on examination reforms and student welfare, which his movement champions.
