Dhurandhar has surged into the global box office stratosphere, grossing Rs 552.70 crore worldwide in just 10 days. The Ranveer Singh-led espionage thriller opened with Rs 218 crore nett in its first week and has kept climbing, recording Rs 58.20 crore nett on its second Sunday—the biggest Sunday ever for a Hindi film. The makers note an “unprecedented, record-shattering run,” with daily numbers outpacing the previous day from Monday onward. They also highlight that Dhurandhar has registered the biggest second Friday, second Saturday, and second Sunday in Hindi cinema history.
India’s tally stands strong with a net collection of Rs 364.60 crore and an overall India gross of Rs 430.20 crore, while overseas earnings have touched Rs 122.50 crore. With packed houses, midnight shows, and around-the-clock screenings continuing unabated, the film’s momentum shows no sign of slowing down.
Director-writer Aditya Dhar crafts a high-octane spy drama set against geopolitical events like the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament Attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, with a backdrop that notably includes Lyari town of Karachi. Producers describe the release as a worldwide phenomenon fuelled by unprecedented word-of-mouth and audience enthusiasm.
Industry observers say the film’s global appeal and robust domestic performance could herald a new benchmark for Hindi cinema box office, with eyes on possible milestones as it edges toward the ₹500 crore mark in India and further global milestones.
