The stage is set for the "Freedom 250" concert, but the lineup has seen some major changes recently. While several big names have backed out of the event organized by the public-private partnership linked to President Donald Trump, 90s icon Vanilla Ice is doubling down on his decision to perform.

The concert is part of a nationwide celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. However, since the Washington, D.C. event was announced last week, stars like Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, The Commodores, Young MC, and Morris Day have all withdrawn their names from the roster.

Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, isn't letting the political controversy slow him down. In a recent interview, the "Ice Ice Baby" singer made it clear that he views the performance as a celebration of the country rather than a political statement. He emphasized that music is a universal language meant to unite people rather than divide them.

"I’m here to party with America, man," the 58-year-old singer stated, noting that he would be just as willing to play for a wedding in the Biden family as he is for this event. He even went as far as to say he would perform anywhere there are fans, from Iran to Russia, because he believes entertainers shouldn't take things so seriously.

Trump has also weighed in on the departures, mocking the artists who left for having "the yips." Meanwhile, Vanilla Ice remains focused on giving the fans a show and representing the 90s era. He urged everyone to stop focusing on the politics and just enjoy the music, reminding the public that entertainers are there to make people dance.
