The weather agency says the system will bring below-normal to near-normal daytime temperatures, with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds possible in isolated pockets. The rest of the country isn’t left out, with wet spells and thunderstorms forecast through April 9.
In the north-west region, residents might wake to gray skies and the first showers by midweek, followed by a cooling trend that could temper the heat that had been building in some parts. The IMD bulletin notes rain or thundershowers can occur in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar and Nagarkurnool. In Hyderabad city, people might experience partly cloudy skies, with a likelihood of light to moderate rain or thundershowers in the evening or night and forecast temperatures around 37 C high and 25 C low.
In another note, moderate rain is possible in DK and Udupi up to April 9, signaling that coastal regions remain unsettled. Forecasters emphasize preparedness for flash floods or localized disruption in heavy downpours, and residents are advised to carry umbrellas and monitor updates from local officials.
Authorities remind travelers and daily commuters to plan for possible delays during the rain spells and to avoid nonessential travel during thunderstorms. Meteorologists urge caution, especially for outdoor activities and for vulnerable groups, including the elderly and children, who may be more affected by sudden weather changes.
