Delhi blast module busted: Hamas-style drones planned, NIA says

In a fresh development in the Red Fort car bombing case, the National Investigation Agency on Monday arrested Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danish, a resident of Qazigund in Anantnag district, Kashmir. The NIA says the Jaish module was planning Hamas-style drone attacks and was building small rockets for serial blasts.
Officials said Wani provided technical support for modifying drones and constructing rockets, including equipping drones with cameras and batteries to enable remote triggering of bombs at crowded places. Investigators say the aim was to replicate terror tactics seen in conflict zones.
The probe has linked Wani to Umar un Nabi, the suicide bomber responsible for the attack, with Wani described as an active co-conspirator who worked closely with Umar to plan the carnage. The arrest follows earlier detentions in the case and underscores the ongoing effort to dismantle a broader network tied to Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Authorities stress that the plot was foiled before any attack could be carried out and that Delhi's security agencies are intensifying surveillance and counter-terror operations. The case underscores the persistent threat of drone-enabled attacks and the need for vigilance against groups attempting to replicate battlefield tactics in India.
