Atletico didn’t hold back, explaining that it took them only five minutes to create the fake post to prove a point about how easily reality can be altered in the modern era. They warned fans not to believe everything they see, especially when it involves Barcelona’s "propaganda machine." According to Atletico, they’ve been dealing with leaked information, fake news, and constant disrespect from the Catalan club over the past few months.

The tension didn’t stop at social media trolling. Atletico’s statement took a much sharper turn, referencing some of the biggest controversies surrounding Barcelona.
