Trump’s Freedom 250 Lineup Revealed: Vanilla Ice to Perform as Other Acts Drop Out
Get the latest on the Great American State Fair! Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida join Trump's Freedom 250, but why are some major stars already pulling out? Here is the full scoop.
Washington D.C. is gearing up for a massive once-in-a-generation celebration on the National Mall, but the artist lineup is already seeing some major shakeups. Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 Great American State Fair has officially announced its roster, featuring nostalgia-heavy acts like Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, and Bret Michaels.
Scheduled to run from June 25 to July 10, the event aims to showcase all 56 U.S. states and territories in a style reminiscent of a World’s Fair. Spanning the distance between the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument, the fair promises carnival rides, live music, and partner activations where visitors can experience the unique culture, tastes, and traditions of every state.
However, the announcement was not without its hurdles. Almost immediately after the lineup went public, legendary funk artist Morris Day took to social media to shut down rumors of his involvement. Using his signature style, Day confirmed that Morris Day & The Time will not be appearing at the event, simply stating, "It’s a no for me."
The fallout continued as rapper Young MC also announced his departure from the bill. Reports suggest that some artists were blindsided by the political nature of the event, with representatives claiming they were never told about the specific political involvement or the Trump connection. Other acts, including C+C Music Factory, are reportedly weighing their options following the news.
Despite the high-profile exits, the current lineup still features a variety of names like Flo Rida, The Commodores, and Martina McBride. Organizers are promising an unforgettable celebration of American people and traditions, turning the heart of the nation's capital into a massive 16-day festival to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary.
