Raipur Teens Detained Over ISIS Links in Pakistan-Backed Module Probe
Chhattisgarh ATS detains two minors from Raipur, linked to a Pakistan-based ISIS module using social media to spread extremist content.
The Chhattisgarh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained two boys in Raipur after investigators traced online activity to a Pakistan-based ISIS module. The youths were reportedly involved in disseminating extremist content and attempting to establish an ISIS network within Chhattisgarh through social media, authorities said. The investigation indicates the handlers operated from Pakistan, using fake identities on platforms like Instagram to reach Indian youths and encourage radicalisation. The two teenagers were added to Instagram group chats where they were exposed to and quietly groomed with ISIS ideology and calls for anti-India actions. Police described the case as an early attempt by the module to mobilise local support and set up a local ISIS cell. Once investigators determined the activities were anti-national, a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, was registered against the youths.
