Sunrisers Hyderabad is stepping into IPL 2026 with a blend of proven performers and fresh faces, aiming for another tilt at the title. Captain Pat Cummins will lead SRH for a third time, though he is expected to join mid-season after working through a back injury. In his absence, Ishan Kishan has been named the stand-in captain, a move Cummins fully supports.
Head coach Daniel Vettori will oversee a broad support staff, including Batting Coach Hemang Badani, Assistant Batting Coach Hariesh Jaikumar, Spin/Strategy Coach Muttiah Muralitharan, Bowling Coach Varun Aaron, Fielding Coach Ryan Cook, Physiotherapist Shyam Sundar Jayapalan, and Physical Trainer Mario Villavarayan. This season also marks ten fresh faces in SRH’s ranks, including two overseas players: Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards, who were auctioned for ₹2 crore and ₹50 lakh respectively. The IPL 2026 journey begins with an opener against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with SRH eager to set the tone early.
Cummins is targeting a mid-IPL return after resuming bowling following a back injury, a plan that will shape SRH’s strategy for the latter half of the tournament.
