The 700kg animal, affectionately nicknamed "Donald Trump" for his unique blond tuft of hair, was originally destined for sacrifice during the Eid al-Adha festival. However, after his videos went viral online, the government decided to step in.

The buffalo’s journey to stardom began when crowds started flocking to a local farm to catch a glimpse of his unusual appearance and calm nature. The owner of the farm, Ziauddin Mridha, shared that his younger brother gave the buffalo the nickname after noticing how much the animal’s blond fringe looked like Donald Trump’s hair. In a country where most cattle are dark-colored, this albino beauty stood out immediately, becoming a local celebrity overnight.

As the festival approached, the buffalo had already been sold to a buyer for ritual slaughter. But as the crowds grew larger and the internet interest surged, officials became concerned about public safety and security. The Ministry of Home Affairs eventually ordered that the buffalo be spared. The buyer was refunded, and the "Trump" buffalo has now been relocated to the national zoo in Dhaka, where he can live out his days in peace.

While albino buffaloes are incredibly rare in Bangladesh, it was likely the catchy nickname and the resulting viral fame that truly saved his life.
