Nirmala Sitharaman to Kick Off 3-Day Vijayanagara Visit With Development Projects
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman begins a three-day Vijayanagara tour, inaugurating the Vijaya Path Project in Hosapete and overseeing welfare and cultural events around Hampi.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be on a three-day visit to Vijayanagara district in Karnataka from December 20 to 22, with a schedule that blends development work, welfare schemes and cultural engagements. She is slated to inaugurate the Vijaya Path Project at the Amaravati Government Girls’ Pre-University College in Hosapete on December 20 at 10 a.m., signaling a focus on local infrastructure and education.
Later in the day, she will participate in a Chintan Shivir at Vijayashree Heritage at 11.30 a.m. In the evening, the Union minister is expected to watch the sound-and-light show at Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, at 7.30 p.m. and will stay overnight in the historic town.
The following day, December 21, she will launch a sapling plantation drive at 10 a.m. on the Meteorological Office premises in Kamalapur, and then flag off the National Pulse Polio Programme at the Kamalapur Primary Health Centre at 10.30 a.m. She will again attend the Chintan Shivir at Vijayashree Heritage at 11.30 a.m. before staying overnight at Hampi.
On December 22, Sitharaman is scheduled to depart for New Delhi at 10.40 a.m. from Vidyanagar Airport, wrapping up a visit described as a mix of development actions and cultural engagement around one of Karnataka’s famed heritage sites.
