Nominations for the April 23 Assembly polls in Virudhunagar begin March 30, with limited filing days due to holidays and strict vehicle rules.
Nominations for the April 23 Assembly elections in Virudhunagar district will begin on March 30, with elaborate arrangements at the offices of Returning Officers for seven assembly constituencies. Nominations will be received from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day until April 6. Since four holidays fall on March 31, April 1, April 3 and April 5, the filing window will be limited to four filing days. Candidates will be allowed a maximum of three vehicles up to the 100-metre mark, according to district election officer N. O. Sukhaputra.
In addition to the filing window, the scrutiny of nominations is scheduled for April 7, and the last date for withdrawal has been fixed for April 9. The nomination drive covers seven assembly constituencies within Virudhunagar district, and election officials are coordinating to ensure smooth processing and crowd control during the filing period.
