Madurai district recorded 80.43% voter turnout across 10 Assembly constituencies in the 2026 Assembly election. In the 2021 Assembly elections, Madurai district had recorded 70.46% voter turnout. Sholavandan (reserved) Assembly constituency recorded the highest voter turnout in the district with 87.11%. In the 2021 Assembly election too, Sholavandan had recorded the highest voter turnout in the district with 79.49%. As per the data obtained from ECI and Madurai district administration, the rural segments in the district recorded more voter turnout when compared with the urban segments. The rural segments recorded more than 80% voter turnout while the urban segments recorded more than 70% voter turnout.
